Amsterdam royal zoo yesterday!  Lots of very open, multi-species exhibits.  I’d never seen a baby elephant, nutria, snowy owls, or red ruffed lemurs in person before.  There were snowy owlets, and the lemurs were in a free range area so you could get right up close to them.  Also entertaining, they had raccoons and skunks and prairie dogs on exhibit and I heard more than a few people cooing over how cool they were.  Chimpanzees, griffon vultures, cormorants, an enormous nile crocodile–it was a good day.

Also hit up the micropia museum, was interesting, but I could’ve lived without the reminder of just how many microbes live on me.  Ick.
