listen, I’m not the biggest fan of kids but if a child looks at me then you bet I’m gonna smile back at them. kids deserve to experience the world as a kind and safe place to explore okay.

Seriously. Smile back at kids who smile at you. Nod along and make interested noises while they tell you about something they only have half the vocabulary they need to describe but they’re gonna try anyway. Act like the half-bald Elsa doll they shove in your face is the prettiest damn thing you’ve ever seen. Because this world fucking sucks but I’ll be damned if any little kid learns that from me.
