that the characters are so flawed. like literally they all have these flaws that make them into real people (including the female characters, women ain’t angels, despite what anakin sometimes claims) like
leia fucking organa is the pettiest (autocorrected to ‘prettiest’ three times, accurate), not ragefilled rebel or otherwise in the fucking galaxy like just look at what she did to Lady Carise Sindian in Bloodline (not mentioned for spoilers, but I was legitimately screaming out loud)
luke is too idealistic (honestly almost too noble, but he’s probably the closest to perfection in the sw universe along with rey)
han is a surprisingly moral morally grey scoundrel like he traded spice, he shot greedo first (literally one of the most important establishing points about his character and the state of morals in the galaxy, so fuck you george), like he’s one of the most loyal mother hens around when he’s gotten attached, but he sure ain’t this pure noble hero
AHSOKA TANO is impulsive and reckless and reactionary and sometimes overestimates herself and her own skills and it gets people killed sometimes but she /learns/ from her mistakes (A+ for character development) and she’s so flawed I love her. she really is like, an arrogant kid who’s learning to lead and fight a war on the front lines by making mistakes and learning from them and it makes her so flawed and so perfect
padmé is a fucking legend like she’s idealistic while being rational but also like have you seen her she’s literally always running into danger and situations she’s technically probably not officially qualified for (a fully trained Jedi Master has been taken captive in enemy territory? I only have a blaster, a Jedi padawan, and two droids at my disposal? guess I’m gonna go save a Jedi master) like sweetheart (she handles herself tho like damn)
wE ALL KNOW HOW FLAWED ANAKIN IS BUT HONESTLY he’s the angriest drama queen to ever traverse the galaxy but he cares so much about his friends and his troops he literally burned the galaxy to the ground for the people he loves like wow talk about flaws
obi-wan is a fucking mess honestly. like he looks so perfect but he has No Self Preservation Instinct At All someone help the man. he’s too tied to the Jedi code (which he doesn’t actually seem to believe in anyways) and Struggles so much with his attachments and admitting when he’s wrong like bOI (also became a hermit of mourning, I think I know where anakin got the dramatic instincts)
and rey. like I know she’s almost perfect,,, but she really does have her real flaws too. like what does she do when she gets weird force visions form an ancient weapon that murdered thirty children? she runs away. she’s scared, of course she’s scared! so she runs because that’s what you would realistically do, and then she grows my god she’s a blessing
and finn!! also very very near perfection (I think there’s a gradual decline of flaws as time goes by: clone wars – All Of The Flaws; rebellion – normal level of flaws; resistance – flaws…?) but he does have very human flaws too. he lies about his identity because he’s scared of rejection, and then he grows too and reveals the truth!
poe dameron. actually I don’t know if Poe has any flaws it remains to be seen. he may just be an angel after all who knows.
tl;dr: Star Wars has real characters with human flaws and they’re perfect
ps. the true purest angel is chewbacca. he has no flaws.
