Headcanon: porgs are an invasive species and in addition to the massive bounty the First Order has on her head for assassinating the Supreme Leader, Rey also ends up racking up and escaping a long list of fines for bringing them into the inner rim, which get bumped up to illegal non-sentient organism trafficking once someone realizes that the Falcon is a freight vessel and Chewbacca the famous smuggler is on board.  It’s always at the end of every list of lengthening charges for her and select other members of the Resistance– sabotage, murder, treason, intergalactic terrorism, grand theft of a navigable vessel, aggravated assault, resisting arrest, possession of a generally prohibited or deadly weapon, theft of a generally prohibited or deadly weapon, piloting a space-faring vessel without an operating license, piloting a hyperspace-capable vessel without an operating license, operating an unregistered space-faring vessel, operating an unregistered hyperspace-capable vessel, operating a vessel without galactic insurance, operating a vessel in violation of [insert paragraphs of galactic vehicle safety and maintenance codes that the Falcon fails to comply with, has been modified with disregard to, or which expired years ago], multiple counts of murder of a law enforcement officer, aiding and abetting a fugitive, aiding and abetting a terrorist organization, conspiracy to commit murder, conspiracy to murder imperial troops, escape from a detention facility by force or violence, ecoterrorism and illegal organism trade.  Despite being the subject of a full fledged manhunt by the First Order, she and Chewbacca finally get arrested by local police on RICO charges for smuggling porgs.
