Continuation of ghost tour of the state of Arizona: Jerome!  Any of you in the area, I highly highly recommend Ghost Town Tours, specifically the ghost adventure tour led by Taylor.  Seriously.  Expensive but worth every penny.

Turned us loose in a cemetery with ghost boxes and EMF detectors.  I followed an EMF up the hill and past several graves, but once it was leading me off into the prickly pear scrub and the steep hillside running down to a barbed wire fence, I said out loud “no we’re not going that way.  No.  No!  Stop flashing at me, we’re taking this path.  No, not down there.  Stop!”  And for the rest of the time we were in there everyone else’s meters would ping and mine did not spike again until we left the cemetery gate.  I guess I upset someone, but I was not gonna stumble down that hill in the dark.  Also, the flashlight in Alex’s hand died at one point, at the same time another lady’s phone gave out.  The other two EMF meters (not mine) spiked.  Then the flashlight came back on and the lady goes “I’m going to be so freaked out if my phone is back” and pulls out her phone to reveal it’s going through it’s start up process without her having turned it back on.

However, we started at the old high school, that’s been deserted since 1975.  And there we didn’t have much happen that was documentable.  I suspect at least some of it was the tour guide messing with us.  I was not willing to go out on my own and the other people on the tour were rather…reluctant.  I did get to stretch the slight sensitivity I have a bit.  Tour guide led us into the boys’ shower room in the auditorium, and I admit I totally missed everything he said in there because we had to walk by the boy’s bathroom, and that was a Bad Place.  All hair on end, all over cold, instant jolt of adrenaline, watery-guts terror Bad Place.  I can’t even put into words.  I head a rustle and a thunk and some taps walking by it, didn’t see anything moving even though I Did Not turn my back on that doorway at all ever.  Bad.  Very very very very very bad.  Which is interesting because we did go wander into the girls’ shower room, which the tour guide told us afterward was usually an area that freaked people out, and I didn’t have any issues.  But the boy’s bathroom was Bad in a way I have never encountered before and I didn’t like it and I very much hope I never run into that again, whatever it was.
