I have insomnia so I’m hoping by the time I finish this my brain can rest. Anyway, earlier today during a chat with @generallkenobi I was playing with the most ridiculous ways to fix the SW universe and thought of this:

Every time Anakin is at risk of going dark he gets inundated with adorable kitties. How can you possibly remain caught up in negative emotions if you’re surrounded by floofs?

Anakin gets frustrated with the rules? Cute tooka meows and demands pets. Anakin comes out of the Chancellor’s rooms all moody? Stray tookas purr and twine around his ankles. Anakin gets too caught up in Rafe on campaign? Space tiger sits on him and starts grooming.

It solves everything!

Ok, you say, “but why does he basically become space kitty catnip?”, and that’s the beauty of this idea. Because cats (which I’m counting tookas as) are thought to be particularly sensitive to the whole spiritual plane, seeing things that we can’t etc. Like a certain blue ghost who has found a way to interact with the living world thanks to a.bit of persuasion and some manipulation of tuna cans… even as a ghost Qui-Gon Jinn lives to give the council headaches and his kitty minions get everywhere.

It starts out small, one of two in the temple at a time but he becomes more adept at things and soon there’s a tiny black tooka taking over Mace’s council chair and hissing at those who try to dislodge it.

There’s a purple one that likes to nap on Yoda’s head. He appears to be completely unperturbed by this fact which makes conversations the the old Master rather uncomfortable as said tooka just stares you down through it all.

There’s a large pushy white one that drops packets of tea on Obi-Wan’s paperwork when he’s been at it too long and yowls if he tries to ignore it. Cody very much appreciates this kitty. It is quiet and soft and likes to curl up in whatever available lap it can find until called upon to do its duty. He and the boys are working on getting it a proper commission.

Unlike the one Qui-Gon sicced on Anakin that is almost as bad as Artoo! In fact said tooka is known to ride around on top of the droid happily chirping at things when not snuggling Skywalker into submission… It has a fascination with his hand in particular and likes the scritches very much!

These are just the daily babysitters of course, when needed Qui-Gon will call upon whatever aid he can find and Rex still feels that the image of Generals Kenobi and Skywalker being accosted by Saber toothed tigers is one of the funniest things he’s ever seen…

Not the funniest because honestly EVERYONE agrees that the image of Count Dooku attempting to give his evil monologue while removing what seems like an endless stream of assorted kitties trying to climb up his pant legs is really hard to beat…
