When the Blades of Marmora learn that the Paladins find Keith a bit distant and hard to read, they’re shocked.

“Obviously, he’s happy to be with you right now. Look how his shoulders are turned toward you!”

“Why didn’t you invite him to tell you his concerns? Didn’t you see him shifting his feet?”

Because it turns out that Keith has very open and easy-to-read body language. It just happens to be galran body language. To any galra, Keith is almost childishly self-expressive, because no one ever taught him to restrain his emotive movements. Most of the time, his human guardians never even realized he was emoting.

Shiro came the closest of anyone to really comprehending Keith’s body language, simply because he put in the time. But there were still gaps in his knowledge, and he always assumed Keith just had a unique way of expressing himself.

Nope.

Turns out, he just had a very galran way of expressing himself. Keith still has some human body language, but a lot of it either stems from overlap with galran body language or had to be consciously learned.

The general consensus among the Blades is that Keith’s overt expressiveness is kind of adorable and that he can never, ever do undercover work.
