the entire time blake was at beacon, she was afraid to open up to people. she tried to keep her past separated from us. she tried to protect us. eventually, those walls she put up came down. and the moment they did, the one thing she was afraid of actually happened. the universe proved her right.

[5.08] alone together

I’m still crying over Yang saying she needed Blake

almea:

Yang saying she needed Blake is the worst thing that’s happened to me since Yang lost her arm. Or like, since Yang told Ruby than Blake ran and sounded like she was about to start crying when she said she didn’t know why.

But this time we get Yang straight up sobbing into her hands because she needed Blake, heaving shoulders and everything.

I’ve watched that scene, so many times and I’ve cried for real every single time because it hurt so much.

do y’all even UNDERSTAND what this episode of rwby just did???? do y’all get it???? not only did we get yang singling out blake as someone who means something different to her than weiss or ruby (notice yang’s use of both “i” and “we” whereas weiss spoke of them as “we” – yang: what if i needed her to be here for me) but we got the most perfect character parallel of all time.

ilia has always been paralleled to sun, and yang to adam. does ilia’s admission of unrequited love – you were always looking at him, i wanted you to look at me that way – remind us of anyone else, who currently looks at blake that way but is never looked at by her? sun, of course. sun who couldn’t even imagine how to get blake to the dance back at beacon. sun who didn’t know the first thing about how to relate to her, appeal to her. sun, whom she still has shown no romantic interest towards. sun, who was captured in a very deliberate, stunning visual of staring at yang and blake’s joined hands in heroes & monsters – yang, who, by all intents and purposes, was the only person blake listened to, looked at.

also the fact that ilia almost had her captured and sent to adam in mistral, and we all know that when blake actually arrives in mistral, it’s going to be to yang. there is a lot to be said abut location-based storytelling and narratives. and the parallel of having sun + ilia in menagerie to mirror each other vs having yang + adam in mistral to (eventually) play off of each other isn’t an accident.

on top of all this, we got blake canonically being the object of another girl’s attraction in a blatantly romantic way. there’s no denying this. meaning the show has now made that attraction an option. and, yall can think what you like, but i personally don’t believe we’re gonna get three characters in unrequited love with blake. so anyway basically blake and yang are fuckign in love and i cannot wait for them to reunite and fucking realize it. thanks rwby! i love it

konekorambles:

and rwby is continuing to careen down the course of pushing aside interesting girls in favor of quite frankly mediocre boys and i’m getting rather frustrated.

Seriously all the girls are so much more INTERESTING. An episode with no jaune and no sun and no oscar and shit is actually GOOD again.  Yang snapping and breaking things because her family (blood and found) was insulted? Weiss’s concern for her? RAVEN AND HER MORAL GREYNESS AND BARELY TOUCHED UPON BACKSTORY? This is awesome.  give me an entire show of this instead of the ‘stalking is okay if it’s in her best interest’ BULLSHIT
