the entire time blake was at beacon, she was afraid to open up to people. she tried to keep her past separated from us. she tried to protect us. eventually, those walls she put up came down. and the moment they did, the one thing she was afraid of actually happened. the universe proved her right.
Yang had never really been the type to ask someone out, and ergo had never really planned a date in her life.
The problem wasn’t confidence, not by any means. (She had a dangerous amount of that, as all of her combat instructors had made clear)
Nor was it awkwardness; Yang had always had a good nose for social situations.
No, it was one simple thing that made her so bad at the actual act of asking someone out; Yang was drop-dead gorgeous.
Unfortunately, so was her girlfriend, which was how she’d ended up planning out a date to celebrate the end of the semester.
It was, if she said so herself, (and she did, several times) really a fantastic date; A little bit of shopping, followed by dinner, and then they’d attend a showing of Weiss’ favorite opera, the Barber of Old Vale.
She wasn’t entirely sure she’d actually enjoy an opera, but the important bit was that Weiss did, so she was more than willing to sit through it for a while.
